It was fantastic to be involved in the grand opening of the new North Kesteven District Council (NKDC) service centre at Metheringham, managed by their Environment Manager Nina Camm. The new premises signify a £4.2m investment in waste and street scene for the district and continues our long-standing partnership with NKDC to maintain their fleet and provide crucial operational support throughout the borough.
The grand opening was well attended with over 70 delegates from neighbouring councils, partners and members of the Lincolnshire Waste Partnership. The Chairman of North Kesteven District Council, Geoff Hazelwood attended to mark the official opening, using one of the brand-new refuse collection vehicles to cut the ribbon declaring the new workshop facility officially open.
Go Plant Fleet Services provides maintenance services to NKDC and has three employees that will be working from the new facility providing the required support to keep the operational fleet on the road. Our relationship with NKDC goes back over 12 years and our ongoing support of this contract demonstrates how working in close partnership with NKDC has ensured that our staff fully understand what’s required of them and feel very much part of the team.
