Go Plant is celebrating ongoing growth and investment with the launch of a brand new depot facility in Welwyn Garden City, which has not only created exciting new job opportunities, but has generated various local community benefits too.
The business, which now operates eight UK-wide depots, recently transformed a wasteland site on Bessemer Road into a fully-functioning Service Centre, housing 23 specialist vehicles and employing more than 25 members of staff.
“Our team worked incredibly hard to clear and develop the site,” explained Depot Manager, Andy Brumell. “Since then, we’ve gone from strength to strength and have generated significant amounts of new business, which in turn has enabled us to create job opportunities for local people.
“We recently took delivery of six new-generation DAF VT651 truck-mounted sweepers at the service centre with more to follow, which boast better fuel consumption and lower emissions than ever before. This not only maintains operating costs for us but ensures our rates remain competitive for our partners, and helps improve air quality scores and reduce noise pollution levels in the area too.”
Paul Langham, Managing Director at Go Plant, added: “The growth of the business and our commitment to ever-more sustainable products and practices meant that we were eager to invest in a new facility which is not just fit for our requirements today, but which will see us best placed to continue growing in the future.”
“We’ve successfully operated from various service centres across the country for many years and are proud of the role they play in their local communities. Welwyn Garden City is no exception, and we very much look forward to developing strong relationships with those in the surrounding area in the months and years ahead.”
