Go Plant is marking its fifth year of providing specialist road sweeper hire to Europe’s largest street carnival.
The company provided five of its operated sweepers to undertake ongoing cleaning and maintenance during the annual Notting Hill Carnival, which took place on Sunday 24th and Monday 25th August.
Go Plant partnered with leading waste management firm, Veolia, to supply the specialist vehicles for its night time operation throughout the weekend’s recent festivities which millions of revelers descended to from all over the world – a role which Go Plant has held for five years.
Shaun Smithson, Business Development Manager of Go Plant’s Southern region, explained: “We’re delighted to have taken part in this year’s Notting Hill Carnival, which welcomed thousands of people from across the UK and beyond. The sheer amount of visitors for such a large-scale outdoor event means that the waste and litter on the streets increases dramatically, so it was hugely important to ensure that the environment was maintained and left in a clean and safe condition.” Follow this link to find out more about our refuse collection vehicles.
Notting Hill Carnival originated in 1964 as a way for Afro-Caribbean communities to celebrate their own cultures and traditions and marks the abolition of slavery and slave trade.
Steven Morris, Contract Operations Manager at Veolia, the UK’s leader in environmental solutions, added: “Across the two day event, we collected 230 tonnes of waste, and as always we were impressed with the service provided by the Go Plant team. We look forward to working with them in the future.”
