The role

You will be responsible for carrying out vehicle maintenance and repair, making sure that you complete your work to the highest standard. Using your technical knowledge with confidence and initiative you will be trusted to work alone but with a whole support team around you.

Skills

You must hold a recognised qualification such as City and Guilds, IRTEC, NVQs or other recognised qualifications .You will need experience of working on HGV Chassis, Road Sweepers and Specialist Mounted vehicles and fault code diagnostic equipment.

Desirable

A HGV Category C driving licence would be advantageous so that you can collect and deliver vehicles between sites and test centres.

This work will involve some night and weekend work so flexibility in your working hours is essential.

HGV Technician

THE ROLE

At Go Plant Fleet Services we operate within our four core beliefs of Trust, Safety First, Together Matters and Wowness. A great customer experience is at the heart of what we do.

We are looking for a full time experienced Workshop/Mobile Technician to join our team at our Depot situated on Sadler Road, Lincoln.

Reporting to our Workshop Supervisor you will be responsible for ensuring vehicles are maintained above the minimum standards required by the DVSA so that all vehicles do not fall below the minimum standards between scheduled service/inspection dates.

Reporting reoccurring manufacturer issues to the Workshop Supervisor.

Participate in providing standby and callout cover.

Assist in co-ordinating repairs on company assets.

Ensuring vehicles and plant are maintained in line with the service planner.

Undertake vehicle and equipment inspections, service and repairs, in accordance with company policy.

Maintain third party customer liaison as and when required.

THE PERSON

You should enjoy working in a supportive, team environment where staff help each other and recognise that they individually have a responsibility

You should be willing to participate in any training and development that is required to enable you to   deliver a safe and reliable fleet of vehicles

Promote a safety and environmental culture in line with the company’s policies and procedures

Work with the team to ensure all vehicles have a 100% first time MOT pass rate.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

Hold Industry recognised training qualifications, City & Giulds, NVQ’s or equivalent.

Be familiar with modern fault code reader diagnostic systems.

Have a wide range knowledge of light vehicles to HGV chassis manufacturers and specialist equipment mounted on vehicles, plant and other specialist municipal equipment.
