MARCH 2011 : NORTHAMPTON’S FUTURE WASTE MANAGEMENT STRATEGY WITH GPL HIRE & ENTERPRISE
GPL Hire has recently been awarded a major new contract to supply a mixed municipal fleet to waste management specialist Enterprise. This further cements GPL Hire’s workings partnership with Enterprise which includes contracts at Liverpool, London Royal Parks & Northampton County Council. GPL Hire has been selected to supply municipal vehicles on contract hire to support Enterprise’s waste management & street cleansing activities in Northampton & Daventry. Enterprise will be utilising a range of specialist refuse & recycling vehicles, light commercial vehicles, specialist cleansing equipment and a mix of road/pavement sweeping vehicles. The contract will be in place for an initial 7 year period with around 70 vehicles & items of plant. This represents an investment of £3m by GPL Hire in 2011.
GPL Hire has a proven track record working with Northampton B.C. having taken over fleet maintenance and vehicle hire arrangements from MHS in 2005. GPL Hire will continue to operate the new contract out of the purpose built 4 bay workshop at the Kings Heath industrial estate, Northampton.
