Oct 2009 : GPL CLEARS UP!!
GPL recently acquired a number of both compact and truck mount sweepers after a major competitor went into administration. This meant that GPL were able to service both existing and new customers with additional equipment. The short term hire fleet of sweepers now stands in the region of around 150 with an age profile of just three to four years old maximum, with an additional number of brand new Johnston VT650 vehicles currently on order destined for short term hire to be phased in between April and October. Customer demands have meant that the vehicle specification on some vehicles has been adjusted accordingly to accommodate our Contracting customers where chapter eight requirements have been made. This has demonstrated our flexibility to meet customer demand in an ever changing industry. Winter Maintenance vehicles have also been added to the fleet last season (Oct 09) with an infusion of Dennis Elite chassis complete with Schmidt Gritter bodies and snow plough attachments which have proved extremely popular and have been contracted even before delivery took place. The Self Drive Hire team are now working hard to understand demand before placing more orders this year. Our procurement programme will see the delivery of other brand new vehicles over the next few months, such as Refuse and Tipper vehicles.
